Founder and Artistic Director of Monster Theatre, RYAN GLADSTONE has co-written, produced and acted in all the Monster shows. A graduate of the University of Calgary, and a 10 year veteran of Calgary’s world famous Loose Moose Theatre he is currently working as a writer, director, actor, educational consultant, mask maker/performer and improviser in Vancouver. 

Artistic Associate BRUCE HORAK has been involved in all Monster productions since THE CANADA SHOW, which is pretty much all of them.  Bruce also is an award winning theatre for young people playwright.  Hailing from Calgary, where he attended Mount Royal College, he is currently living in Toronto when not on tour.  Bruce’s first solo album is available wherever you see the Monsters live.  Samplings are available by just clicking on his name above. 

JEFF GLADSTONE, self-proclaimed Monster at Large.  Jeff’s first project with these gentlemen was a short film he wrote and directed with Ryan called “Kids in Space”.  Jeff was 6, Ryan was 5 – the movie was heavily influenced by Star Wars.  Since then Jeff has toured THE CANADA SHOW numerous times, co-written, produced and starred in THE BIG ROCK SHOW, and THE HISTORY OF THE FUTURE.  A graduate of the University of Calgary, he now resides in Vancouver.  Jeff is also a musician, with two albums to his name.  Visit his site for some samples of his music.  Jeff also has two solo shows “Bouquets and Elegies” and “Lenny Breau: Live!”

If Monster Theatre had a board of directors, JOHN SCHUETT would be the president.  Our Webmaster, John (AKA Jack, Ol’ Jack Shuett, Jack Valet, Trouble, Johnny-5, 5) has recently moved to Toronto where he is currently engaged in subversive plans to get both Ryan and Bruce in serious trouble with international law authorities.  He is also the creator of JESUS CHRIST: Zombie Slayer!

MICHELLE FIELD (THE CANADA SHOW, THE BIG ROCK SHOW) Aside from being the prettiest of the Monsters, Michelle has also become the ‘resident’ stage manager, touring with the Monsters on various tours here and there.  She has also worked as a writer/actor in numerous productions which have toured across the country.  

KATHERINE SANDERS (FAIRY TALE: The Choose Your Own Adventure Play, JESUS CHRIST: The Lost Years) Katherine was in the very first Monster Theatre production, and also it’s most recent, waiting in the wings until the world was ready for her powers to be unleashed.  Another Calgarian making the move to Toronto.

MARK CHAVEZ (THE HISTORY OF THE FUTURE) Hailing from Albuquerque New Mexico, Mark Directed ‘FUTURE’ for it’s premiere at the High Performance Rodeo.  He is part of The Pajama Men, a brilliant comedy duo who has traveled the world and won numerous awards.

GEOFF BOUCKLEY (THE HISTORY OF THE FUTURE) Lighting and Set designer for ‘FUTURE’, Bouckley has also been consultant on numerous Monster Projects.  Watch for Geoff to be attached to an upcoming Monster Project.  Shh, it’s secret for now.

ALBERT HOWELL (THE CANADA SHOW) joined the Monsters for the Toronto, Saskatoon, Calgary, and Edmonton productions of The Canada Show. He is a professional actor/improviser/writer in Toronto. He is one-half of The Devil's Advocates comedy team, and penned the "Everybody Knows" song for The Canada Show.  Also, Albert is a very funny man.  

DREW JURECKA (JESUS CHRIST: The Lost Years) Drew was the amazing sound designer for the JC show.  He is a violin virtuoso who has played with various orchestra’s across the continent, the Hollywood Bowl and the Playboy Mansion – just to mention a few.  Drew currently lives in Toronto indulging in a dirty little secret life…playing Jazz!  (www.hogtownsyncopators.com)

REBECCA NORTHAN (THE CANADA SHOW, THE MACBETH SHOW) co-directed the 2002 production of The Canada Show, and directed and adapted THE MACBETH SHOW. She is a veteran of Canadian Comedy, having appeared on the World Improv Games, on the Second City Mainstage and has been nominated for several Canadian Comedy Awards. She is currently in the CTV show Alice, I Think. 

JOHN MURPHY (THE CANADA SHOW: 2 ACTS) John directed the 2 Act version of THE CANADA SHOW in Vancouver.  John is a Vancouverite with numerous acting, writing and Directing credits to his name.

AARON OLNEY (THE CANADA SHOW) Aaron, or O-Bro, was the original straight man in the Canada Show, but had to leave us for a stint at Stratford.  He has also toured the show a few times since then.  Aaron is the proud papa of a boy named Noah.

DAVE HORAK (THE CANADA SHOW) co-directed the 2002 production of The Canada Show. He has performed across the continent in shows for the very young, and the very old (and everyone in-between). He currently lives in Edmonton, where he works as a teacher, director, actor, and writer. 

DENNIS CAHILL (THE BIG ROCK SHOW) Directed THE BIG ROCK SHOW in the spring of 2003.  Dennis is also the Artistic Director of Calgary’s world famous Loose Moose Theatre Company.  

DUVE LANG (THE CANADA SHOW) The eternal child himself, Duve directed the original version of THE CANADA SHOW.  He is also the Artistic Director of Calgary’s only professional theatre company for kids Quest Theatre

DEREK FLORES (THE MACBETH SHOW) Derek played witches, murderers, porters, and moustachioed Scotsmen in THE MACBETH SHOW.  Another Loose Moose alumni, Derek was also one of the internationally celebrated ‘The 3 Canadians’ and half of the Comedy duo ‘Hotnuts and Popcorn’.  

ALEX DALLAS (THE MACBETH SHOW) Alex starred as the saucy Lady Macbeth in THE MACBETH SHOW.  Her favourite review from that show included a claim that she and Ryan Gladstone (Macbeth) exhibited “palpable sexual chemistry”.  She was a member of the long lived and extremely popular comedy troupe “Sensible Footwear”.  Alex also has numerous successful solo shows to her name including ‘Nymphomania’ and ‘Drama Queen’. 

CHRIS ‘Hilarious’ GIBBS (THE MACBETH SHOW) Chris starred as the doddering King Duncan and the heartthrob MacDuff in THE MACBETH SHOW.  Chris has two very, very funny solo shows to his credit ‘Gibberish’ and ‘The Power of Ignorance’, as well as a book version of ‘The Power of Ignorance’.
